Challenge

Optimize the planning of airport slots in line with international standards (IATA’s Worldwide Slot Guidelines) and adapt them to local conditions.

Solution

The solution deployed enables the departments of operations and planning to schedule its operations in line with its capacity, while seeking to use its resources to a maximum, reduce peaks and incentivize the airlines to comply strictly with the allotted slots.

Benefits

  • Improvement of the use of the airport’s current capacity, and that way greater returns from the infrastructure can be achieved
  • Improvement of productivity of resources so that with the same infrastructure new operations can be attracted to the airport
  • Encouragement of airlines to engage in healthy competition to fulfil the slots allocated, otherwise they lose their historical rights; this will contribute towards punctuality and schedule adherence
